Our First
F.Y.I These are our first blog posts of the school year, and we just typed some of the things that we did in the first few months of school.
The question of the day is………… what is your favorite ice cream flavor!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leave a comment :)
In Mrs. Eickmann and Mrs. O'Mealey's classrooms (studios) we have made a study guide slide based on the game show Jeopardy to help us study for a social studies test. My group: Asher, Jenna Liam and I, have developed an amazing Jeopardy. Mrs. Eickmann's whole class helped Mrs. O'Mealey's class learn how to make buttons that link to ANY slide that you want! It was SO FUN!!!!! I love technology!
WOW . . . . .Something that we did this year was that Keller kids raised over $400 for a 3rd grade classroom in Texas that lost everything in Hurricane Harvey. We did it to show support for Texas also, the whole school held up signs saying things like “go Texas” or “ happy to help!” WE love you Texas!
Now something else, Hmm…..OH!- I know! Now, let me tell you about Daily Geography. So, every Monday we get a sheet with Geography questions on it to glue into our Daily Geography notebook, and throughout that week we answer all the questions, and at the end of the week we have a test for it that we have studied for as homework.
Now… you should know that we have a field trip to Patriot’s Place. First, we went to The Press Room to make experiments on developing safer Football helmets to prevent concussions. Each table was split up into 2 different color groups. One group trid developing the cushions on the inside of the helmet, and the other group worked on developing the shell on the outside of the helmet. The Next thing we did was, GO TO RED ROBIN’S!!!!!!!! We had lots of fun there. Then, we went to the hall. There were 2 floors. We had lots of fun there. Finally, it was time to leave. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sad I can’t wait to go again!
Oh! By the way, we do co-teaching. I’ll tell you what that is. Co-teaching is when you have a homeroom, but…you switch classrooms for each subject. For example, in reading, your teachers assign your group reading, and some other subjects such as math (shown and talked about down below!)
, reading, and writing! Also, every day, we have our morning meeting in the classroom in between Mrs. O’Mealey and Mrs. Eickmann's homerooms. We call it “Studio 4” We also call Mrs. Eickmann’s homeroom Studio 3, and Mrs. O’Mealey’s Studio 5.
Sooo What about ……..MATh. In the amazing, humble subject that has the wonderful name called MATH we have worked with the mathematical number lines and place value charts. Most of us “llllooovvvveeee” math but others sadly do not :( :( :( :(. Also we joyfully spend time on Beautiful multiplication, addition and subtraction.
